Say if I use a wet/dry straightening iron and straighten my wet hair will it cause any damage to my hair?Do solid ceramic flat irons really not cause any damage?
Yes. That is one of the worst ways to straighten your hair. They say to have the hair completely dry before straightening and then make sure the hair is all cool before beginning. Also then use a thermal iron protector spray before you straighten. It will help get hair straighter and protect it at the same time. I use the Chi thermal iron spray. It is awesome.Do solid ceramic flat irons really not cause any damage?
I think I know what you're talking about. The expenseive ones that are like $250? The ones that are 100% ceramic instead of the usual 20% ceramic, 80% metal? And they steam your hair?
They're supposed to be good for your hair, they bring out the natural moistures. Supposedly, the more you use it, the healthier your hair is. I got one for my birthday, and have used it mabye 4 times, and my hair feels so soft and looks healthier than it did with my old flat iron.
But I can't be positive about it because I don't use it often, and I don't know everything about it.
Every single flat iron that's out there will damage your hair to some extent.
The better ones (unfortunately more expensive) don't as much, or have come up with technology that will lower the damage.
Flat irons work with heat, and when intense heat is enforced on your hair it will cause some damage because heat is not good for your hair (like the sun).
yes; even if it is ceramic. i have what sounds like a straightener like that. heres what i do to prevent damage; first i put in hot iron spray by healthy sexy hair;http://www.sexyhair.com/chapter/Soya_Wan鈥?/a> then i straighten it. it works really well! and when you condition your hair; i recommend this conditioner by aussie; 3 minute miracle http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a>
They Definitely Do cause damage. Anytime you apply heat to your hair you cause dryness and splitting. I use them all the time. I would recommend a deep conditioner twice a week, some shine serum (just to seal the ends) and getting your hair trimmed often to keep your hair in good health.
Even if it is ceramic, theres still heat that damages your hair, and even if your straightner is wet to dry, it really is terribal to do it, it will cause more damage than ever .
wet to dry straighteners are the worst actually.
Ceramic hair straighteners DO cause damage, but not as much as plastic ones would.
depends on how much you do it
and if you do it a lot
you can buy sprays that protect your hair from the heat
try oil sheen
All heat styling damages the hair.
minimal damage its the way to go if you have to use something
