How do you get the product build up off of ceramic flat irons?

I noticed over the weekend before I had to photograph a wedding that my hair was getting stiff while using my straightener, how do you get the product build up off of it?How do you get the product build up off of ceramic flat irons?
Make sure the iron is cool and unplugged. Soak a cotton ball or corner of a washcloth with rubbing alcohol and rub the gunk right off.How do you get the product build up off of ceramic flat irons?
I use a soapy papertowel...then rise the papertowel and wipe it off again until all the product build up is gone...it's going to take some elbow grease honey...those things are hard to keep clean...Good Luck
