Which ceramic flat iron is better, Sedu or CHI?

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Has anyone ever used the ProSilk Ceramic flat iron?

Just wondering. I want to get it, but I want to know if it works first. Don't recommend any other flat iron to me, unless ProSilk is really THAT bad. I know about the Chi...but that costs $100+ and I'm a 14 y/o without a job. I know my parents aren't up for that.Has anyone ever used the ProSilk Ceramic flat iron?
yes proslik is a good one

No idea what it is. You should buy one from a Beauty supply store. They generally work better. Mine is a Jubilee and works great. I bought it at the local Sallys for like 40 bucks. Have had it for over two years.

What is the best ceramic flat iron to buy?

I mean like brands. What is the best ceramic flat iron to buy?
i love my sedu...i have thick curly hair and it straightens it so easily and makes it really soft and shineyWhat is the best ceramic flat iron to buy?
I know all of the really expensive professional ones are really good.

But I have a Conair and I love it! I got it from Wal-Mart for about $20-35. It's 2 inches so kind of big, the inside is gold, outside is black, and there is a comb attachment on one side so after it straightens your hair it combs it so your hair doesn't look stringy or pasty.

My sister had a smaller pro one and it broke really soon. My first Conair lasted for 2 years and now I'm one my 2nd one. But hey for like$25 for 2 years I can't complain.

Good luck picking a great straightener!
I am actually looking to buy a ceramic flat iron too. I am going to Ulta tomorrow to probably buy something from CHI. My moms hair dresser recomended it. It is $120.00 but I think it is supposed to be worth it. Good luck!
CHI is good but it broke down easily for some people. I've had mine for 3 years and so far so good. Linea Pro, Sedu and Solia are good too. But the best one is GHD, if you're willing to shell out $200+.

Good luck.
CHI works really well, especially if you have thisck or frizzy hair. I would recommend going to a store like Ulta and ask them for recommendations if the CHI is out of your price range.
Chi is the best. Here's a link where you can buy them on sale.

I am using GVP 1'' Ceramic Flat Iron: Compare to Farouk CHI Original.?

Is there any side effects in using using Flat iron? Can you use it regularly?I am using GVP 1'' Ceramic Flat Iron: Compare to Farouk CHI Original.?
Any unatural heat is damaging to your hair. Your best bet is to just let your hair air dry and then put a protective heat serum on your hair. Then use a flat iron to straighten it, but if you are impatient then you can roller blow dry it with a roller brush, and then flat iron it. The most important thing to do is condition condition condition, use only a little of diluted shampoo in cup and pour it over your hair, and squeeze the hair do not massage it back and forth the traditional way it breaks your hair off. Oh by the way I had a CHI and and then I got a SEDU I love my SEDU, it takes half the time and doesnt snag my hair! Good luck.... I know I said a mouthful

yah it is but you can get a regular chi and save 10 bucks because the other is limited and sedu works good they dont fry your hair and they straighten your hair quicker compare to a conair because conair frizz and it leaves it dull unlike the sedu and chi and the chi and the sedu take less time to straighten the hair leaving less damage unlike the other and the chi and sedu leave your hair straight for days while conair poofs it up in 6 hours

    The Chi sucks!!!!

    Pros: It is well known.

Cons: It's heavy and gets your hand tired.

    It pulls your hair

You have to go over the same pieces a bunch of times.

    It leaves your hair frizzy

I used to own a chi until the plates fell off of it! Then I bought a Sedu iron and it was the best choice i ever made! ok well maybe not ever, but definitely when it comes to hair. The sedu is so light its unreal! it heats up very fast and does wonders! it leaves my hair super smooth and never pulls it. I hope this helps!
Ive been dying to own a hair straightner for a long time buh i wanted to make sure it was worth my money and id really like it i read questions like yhurs %26amp; i found a lot of mixed answers

Conair Wet-Dry Hot Air Styler OR PLATINUM Ceramic Flat Iron?

have any of u used these? wut is the best? does the wet dry work really fast or will i need 2 use my hair dryer first? thanks!!Conair Wet-Dry Hot Air Styler OR PLATINUM Ceramic Flat Iron?
I really don't recommend any of the wet-to-dry flat irons, especially if you use them without a heat protectant product. See, I've learned that just because it says, ';Damage free!'; on the packaging doesn't mean it isn't awful for your hair. Unbelievably, there is no organization (like the FDA, who manages food and drugs, but not cosmetic products) that evaluates the safety or honesty of beauty product claims. So its ';buyer beware';.

Hair is 70% more fragile when its wet. And even the Conair flat irons for dry hair are not 100% ceramic (just ceramic-plated), so they do more damage than high-end flat irons. I would recommend going with anything besides a Conair.

I got my Solia off Folica.com. You can buy salon-quality flat irons there, though some are kind of expensive. (But at $88, the Solia is worth it!)

I would also advise you to avoid the CHI. They work great (at first), but break easily and have a short lifespan.

Hope this helped!Conair Wet-Dry Hot Air Styler OR PLATINUM Ceramic Flat Iron?
Treat yourself - to a CHI flat iron. They are the best ever - you can get one on Ebay for around $75-$80. It is completely worth it. Trust me.
I dont like conair products they dont get hot enough.
always better to dry your hair first %26amp; use a thermal product ( mouse, gel, ect) then flat iron it. if your hairs wet %26amp; you flat iron it, youll have a tendency to kepp going over one section till the moisture is gone %26amp; your hair s dry %26amp; flat. Goin gover %26amp; over a section leads to damage!! if your hair is already dry your less likely to go through a section a number of times with the hot iron. %26amp; as a professional with very unruly curly kinky thick hair, th ebest irons ive used on me %26amp; others are, infra shine %26amp; chi.
Stay away from Conair products. They don't go up to a high enough temperature, which means that it would take you a longer time to get shiny straight hair. And keeping the iron on your hair for so long will damage it.

Secondly, stay away from wet-to-dry hair straighteners! Never ever put a hot iron on wet hair. When your hair is wet, it's more sensitive to damage, and that will just leave you with dry brittle hair that easily breaks.

Spend the extra money for a more professional straightener. And don't forget to use heat-protecting spray

After I use the ceramic flat iron my hair looks frizzy. Help??

I let my hair air dry than I spray the Chi Iron Guard, section and flat iron. It probably doesn't help that I live in south florida and its extremely humid right now. My straight hair last 5 min then it starts to frizz out and its ugly. Any tips? After I use the ceramic flat iron my hair looks frizzy. Help??
You have 3 problems here. One your hair is frizzy naturally but also it sounds like you are flat ironing your hair slightly wet and one more is you are burning your hair. I am a professional and what it sounds to me is your hair is burning.

If you use any iron on wet hair it can smoke and burn but also if you use it to long in the hair or to hot it will burn. Use professional products for frizzy and to help it hold before you dry your hair. Then when you use your iron try to find a way to see how hot it is. Meaning with a reg iron you put your finger in the middle of the iron where the hair is thickest and when it gets to hot for your finger it means your hair will start to burn. Burning will always frizz your hair. You then will need a reconstructor treatment to help your hair with the damage you have done. There is no way to fix burned hair but you can make it look better as it grows out. First I would do a gentle deep cleansing by mixing professional shampoo, baking soda and water. Should be like a cake mix batter and run through your hair. But a bag over and use a hair blower to heat your head. Then cover with a towel and let it cool. Do not rinse your hair if it is hot it can make hair break off. You will follow this same procedure for the deep conditioning treatment. A treatment is different then just a good conditioner. It is for repairs not just moisture. I hope this helps, there are great professional products out there for fizzy hair.

Oh one more thing, you can put a defuser on your hair blower that will also help with frizzy hair. And blow dry a warm to cool not hot. After I use the ceramic flat iron my hair looks frizzy. Help??
IF IT IS FRIZZY AFTER YOU STRAIGHTEN THEN YOU MUST BLOCK THE HUMIDITY, UNFORTUNATELY THE ONLY WAY TO DO THIS IS .... MORE PRODUCT.... TRY THE SERUM BEFORE YOU STRAIGHTEN AND SOME KIND OF SPRAY AS SOON AS YOU DO A FEW STRANDS.. THAT SHOULD DO IT..
Use a frizz-ease product, like John Frieda Frizz-Ease. A shine spray would be another possibility - it helps tame frizz %26amp; flyaways.
when you use a flat iorn you have to use some typ of surum for your hair you run it thruogh your hair when its damp then blow dry then flat iorn anything anti-frizz since you say that is your prob they have a large selection at any drug store
Use a heat tamer, treseeme has some. Then after you straightened your hair, apply a frizz ease treseemme secret weapon works for me.
when i was in south florida (on holiday, you are so lucky to live there and not in rainy london, uk!) i gave up on straight hair for the daytime and just put a dab of coconut oil in my hair. this, plus the humidity, produced really nice defined curls.

i think air drying is good but you probably still need to blowdry when its 95% dry to take control of it, but just make the room as cool as possible while you do. the texture of my hair wouldn't allow me to straighten it with irons immediately so that could be the problem. unless you have those wet2straight irons?

the big epiphany for me in achieving straght hair was understanding the fact that it was my hair's texture that needed to change, not the fact that it was naturally wavy. if it feels clean and silky it will stay straight. if it feels thick and/or moist, but looks straight, it won't. blowdrying with the right products can dramatically alter the texture of your hair - paul mitchell seal and shine is good, and try phytologie, bumble and bumble or frederic fekkai products.
yea use tresemme heat tamer i use it and i loe it but it doent make my hair to shiny and i havr flyaway too and i want ot ge the anti smooth from tresemme too
what you might want to do is go to a salon and get your tips trimed. make sure that when you flat iron your hair, make sure you iron small amounts of hair at a time. also make sure that you use something good to protect your hair from the heat. i live in florida and know what you're going through cause i've gone through it. try using frizz eaze.
when u ur hair ,u should use olive oil spray because i have hair like that and it works then, u braid it or roll it in a bun and cover it with cloth and go to sleep with it, in the morning u will have great straight hair

use the spray after u straighten ur hair
Try to find a product to use pre-flat ironing that will protect your hair against the heat. Then, make sure your flat iron has ';ions'; in it, which help seal broken/split ends, and result in more flat, shiny, and smooth hair. There are also many products you can use after you straighten your hair, such as Bed Head products, which work very well.
Paul Mitchell Gloss Drops. Great product!

  • Need opinion...should buy a chi ceramic flat iron or are the new ceramics w/ tourmaline better/less damaging?

Yeah ceramic irons are supposed to be the best straighteners that gives a great look with less damage, but my hair is sensitive and need to know which irons are bestNeed opinion...should buy a chi ceramic flat iron or are the new ceramics w/ tourmaline better/less damaging?
Personally I prefer FHI tourmaline flat iron I think it is the best flat iron out there, if you use a flat iron correctly you can use it everyday and not damage the hair. You have to use the right temperature for your hair fine hair lowest setting strong healthy thick coarse hair heaviest setting and you want to always use a heat protectant when using a straight iron. I'm not a fan of using the straight iron on wet to dry hair I feel you should always dry the hair first than straighten it.Need opinion...should buy a chi ceramic flat iron or are the new ceramics w/ tourmaline better/less damaging?
If you're gonna spend money on a chi, you should try and find the new Paul Mitchell flat iron.... it's awesome and makes your hair feel like silk!!!!

It's plates are ceramic but one side has grippers that hold on to your hair (but don't pull it) and they're ionic infused so it helps your hair stay straighter longer.... plus it has a heat setting dial so if you have sensitive hair you can turn it down! i think the highest setting is 400 and the lowest is 150. It also has a blocker in the middle so the blades won't slide and mess with the wiring and cause a short like the chi's do. AND.... normally it only takes one go over your hair to make it straight.... you don't have to keep going over it and over it to get it straight!!!!
any heat even from the blow dryer isnt great for your hair...i recommend either iron because they are both ceramic the chi's are great...BUT go to your local salon and splurge on a heat protectant..they usually come in and aerosol form and are sprayed onto each section of hair after dried and before ironing...this will protect your hair from the heat...
go on google and search it i see alot of comericals about hot rollers but i forgot the name my cousin has a really good one ill come back to u tomorrow when i get the name
no matter what iron you use it always damages the hair. get heat protected serum and stuff

Is there a Ceramic Flat iron that won't do extreme damage to my already damaged hair?

Unfortunately, I think that'll be pretty hard to find.

However, if you put on some kind of heat-protective cream (like Kiehl's Heat-Protective Silk Straightening Cream, which I love because it also helps hold your hair straight for longer) that will help cut down on the damage that you're doing to your hair.

Here's a link to that product:

    http://www.kiehls.com/_us/_en/catalog/pr鈥?/a>

Good luck!Is there a Ceramic Flat iron that won't do extreme damage to my already damaged hair?
The answer is NO. Since your hair is already damaged and vulnerable, no ceramic flat iron is going to help, not even the most expensive one. Wait till your hair repairs and then buy a better quality iron, like Chi, Sedu or T3.Is there a Ceramic Flat iron that won't do extreme damage to my already damaged hair?
my daughter uses a ceramic iron plated with titanium. She got it at Sally Beauty supply.

You might ask their expert advice.

Also, always use a spray or serum to protect your dry hair before you use it. Ask them also for the best spray for before using it.

    Good luck.
Ummm NO! It is widely known the severe damage that flat irons do to hair. Even the top CHI brand still causes damage to the hair unfortunately. I suggest you try to give your hair a break and only use the iron when you are going out on weekends for example and deep condition your hair in between. Try dampening your hair and putting a small jar of mayo in your hair (not light) wrap your hair in plastic wrap and a towel and go to bed with it. In the morning wash it out and style hair as usual. Hope this helps.
Go to a beauty store and buy a CHI flat iron, there the best iron's around they range from $25-$125 Buy the 100 dollar ones they work well
The tourmaline irons are supposed to do the least damage out of any that you can buy. I heard that Chi is one of the best brands as well.
no! once you have applied heat or chemicals to your hair you are already damaging it! the only thing that can save you hair is to stop flat ironing you hair for a while. get your ends trimmed and weekly shampoo paired with deep conditioning and reparing masks for the hair.
probably not i have a turbo 2inch chi flat iron and all it does to my hair is dry it out at the ends!!
Any straightener will damage your hair. Before straightening any more get a shampoo and conditioner for dry damaged hair like sunsilk Hydra TLC. it will rehydrate the damaged hair and buy a thermo protect cream to put on your hair before straightening or blow drying to protect your hair from heat damage Alberto V05 make it straight works well

I've been told that tourmaline ceramic flat irons are better than regular ceramic flat irons. I've done my research on them and they appear to be more beneficial. What's the best tourmaline ceramic flat iron???
I suggest the Chi. It is the best one i've ever used. It's salon quality. You can buy it on amazon for about $80 with free shipping, it retails elsewhere for about $150 to $200.Help!!! What's the best tourmaline ceramic flat iron???
Yea i am with the first answer I have a CHI and have to hide it from my friends. I bought mine from my hair salon(way over priced) but you can get them online much cheaper! I have natural curly hair and it makes it look great strait without the frizz! Well worth my money! Its heats up to 450 degrees just make sure you use some kind of hair protectant like biosilk or something!
Sedu is the best. That's what my hair stylist use. I've tried many flat irons (CHI, TCP, T3 and GHD).
GHS. look at their website, just google it! theyre cheap AND awesum!!!!

I have some myself. No need to fork out loads for ghd's is there???? they also are in diffrent colours!!

What is the best ceramic flat iron?

You'll want to be very carefuly when shopping for a flat iron. There are a lot of them which exude strange smells or some in which the plates peel off after a few months. Make sure you're getting the best one.

The one I have and love is the Conair Wet Dry (its the bright red one). Blow-drying really kills ur hair, and the straighteners drying system locks moisture into the hair. It takes only about 15 minutes on normal hair, 25 on thick hair (which is what I have). Its very good quality and durable, won't break down. It hasn;t broken down for me in 3 years. It does not exude any strange smells and works like a charm. Its ionic technology makes hair smooth and versatile. Best of all, its completely affordable. I got mine for $22.99.

If you are looking for a more costly flat iron, then you might want to go for a Sedu or Chi straightener. They are very expensive, but do work well. However, I think the Conair Wet Dry one works pretty well, too. Choose whichevr fits your price range.

Which one is better? I have the CHI but I'm going to get a backup straightener today =] I've heard that the Remington dries out your hair.. is that true? What kind of ceramic flat iron do you recommend? I need one around 20 bucks.. no more then 30. thanks in advanceRemington Wet2straight vs a regular ceramic flat iron?
remington wet2straight definitely!! But don't actually use it when your hair is wet as dumb as that sounds lol. You can but putting heat on wet hair is never good. It works amazing for dry hair though. I have had every straightener available out there lol. I swear by this though. It lasts forever too. It doesn't dry out your hair. ...No matter what straighting iron you use you are suppose to put a product ';protective straighting serum'; on your hair to protect it from the heat.Remington Wet2straight vs a regular ceramic flat iron?
i used to have the wet2straight for 2 years (used it everyday) and i just bought a zoe leopard print straightener at ulta for 30 dollars (1'; ceramic plates) and wow my hair is soo much softer and shiner now! i can't believe i ever used that wet2straight stuff. I personally wouldn't get the wet2straight, it dosen't even dry your hair that well.
i have the remington wet to straight. (both the small one and the large one) ilovve them! people always tell me it can ruin my hair, bu then everyone always tells me how healthy my hair looks. i have THICK curly hair naturally and strighten it from wet to dry everyday. i havent had any problems like split nds. i would 100% recommend this straightener. = )
no matter what anyone tells you it is not a good idea to straighten wet hair. i have 2 CHI straighteners (turbo%26amp;regular) and i love them but if i go somewhere i have a backup. my backup is just a crappy revlon that was $18 and does the trick...but trust me it is no CHI :( haha

Does anyone have a CHI Nano Ceramic Flat Iron? How do you like it?

i dont know about nano but i own a CHI 1' Ceramic Flat Iron and i have had it for 2years. i love it. it heats up in under a minute and gets REALLY hot. you have to be careful not to fry your hair though. it literally saves my life from a bad hair day :)Does anyone have a CHI Nano Ceramic Flat Iron? How do you like it?
I don't know about the nano but I've heard that the CHI flat irons are really reliable and great in general.Does anyone have a CHI Nano Ceramic Flat Iron? How do you like it?
i have only heard of a chi flat iron i have never heard of that. sorry!!!!!

What is the best ceramic flat iron?

I was looking into the chi, but im not sure if i would spend money on it...I want a straightener that wont fry my hair, and will get it straigfht...im talking staright as a pin! My hair is thick and stubborn so I need a reaally good flat iron, please send me a link to it if there is one, and please let it be able to be ordered in canada! Much details would be appreciated!!! Thank youWhat is the best ceramic flat iron?
Ive had a chi about three times. They are great but they break down after about a year.....but i used it everyday and have long hair. I bought a sedu over a year ago. It is still going good and i personally think it is better than a chi. They both cost about the same between $115-$120, you can get the chi at certain stores but the sedu i think you can only buy it online. Try folica.com for either one. They both keep your hair straight throughout the whole day but make sure to use a spray like tresemme hair tamer or else they will damage your hair with split ends. i think they are well worth the money, my hair is a mess without them!!! The SEDU is amazing its my first choice then the CHI in a close second......good luck!

Oh and they will save you soooooooooo much time i promise. i have hair down to the middle of my back and it is pretty think and kinda naturally wavy and it never takes me more than 30 mins to straighten it after i blow dry my hair. What is the best ceramic flat iron?
The Chi only has one heat setting. When I bought my straightening iron, somebody was helping me and told me that the chi is very good, but it has only one setting thats very hot. There's really no way of telling you right now what the best one is. My advice is, when you go to the store get somebody to help you and take a look at your hair type. For example, I have very soft hair, so the Chi would be really bad for me... considering it's about 400 degrees. I can straighten my hair well with 250 degrees, but my straightener goes up to 425... So ask at the store you go to and somebody will help you. Mine cost me about 80 dollars and it's great. Ceramic. With like 10 heat settings...
GHD is the TOP of the line ceramic flat iron its very expensive but it gets very hot (with temp control) good quality, quick results and safe for your hair.

    http://www.folica.com/GHD_Ceramic_Hai_d3鈥?/a>

also research some good products to use while straightening your hair to protect it because heat without protection equals disaster no matter what flat iron you have.
    The SEDU!!!!!

    I am getting one because

    it is the best straitener!

Chi isn't that great they don't last long either

so check out the sedu at http://folica.com

it is soooo amazing you will love it!

and to protect your hair get the chi heat protectant

for 10 dollars it is so helpful!

    GOODLUCK%26lt;3
Chi is good, but get one with a temperature dial - you'll need a very hot temperature since your hair is stubborn. Get solia or sedu. Make sure you buy from folica.com because they have the cheapest prices.
ghd's ive had them for about 4 to 5 years now and never had any problems with them ,

  • What is best product to repair hair (breakage, dry) damaged by use of ';HerStyler'; ceramic flat iron?

hair was long, soft with sight curl, now dry, hard, rough feeling and breaking off causing shortening of length everytime I comb it.What is best product to repair hair (breakage, dry) damaged by use of ';HerStyler'; ceramic flat iron?
First off stop using heat on your hair, for dry, damage, roughen hair, try using Nexxus Therappe and Humectress, First wash hair with Therappe shampoo this will put moisture back in hair, 2nd, use their Aloxxi polymedic Emergency conditioner this is loaded with proteins, please do not use plastic cap on head while product is in for 10 mins. no more, your hair will feel hard and stiff, do not comb or brush , rinse well with warm water until product washes out of hair, your hair should feel soft but full of body yet strong, third, follow by Humectress conditioner, this will allow the moisture and conditioning to seal hair cuticle. This treatment is really good, especially the Emergency conditoner.

You can do this every two weeks by using the Emergency Conditioner. Please DO NOT use Emergency before two weeks, as it is really strong and will make hair drier.

Interim you can still wash and condition hair with Therappe and Humectress daily or how often you wash your hair, and you can try an aloe vera conditoner in between the two weeks, a good aloe conditioner is IC Fantansia, this can be use every time you washes your hair, it will eliminate dry roughen damage hair.

The Emergency will help stop dry, breakage, damage and roughen feel, but you Must also trim often to get rid of damage. When hair is dry use a Olive oil serum such as IC Fantasia Olive Oil serum, this will nourish, repair and seal cuticles preventing further damage by putting in moisture back in your hair which it needs.

I AM NOT A SALES PERSON FOR NON OF THE PRODUCTS I MENTION, I AM SPEAKING OF EXPERIENCE, SAME THING HAPPEN TO MY HAIR EARLIER THIS HAIR WITH CERAMIC IRON. These products works, try them.

By the way within a couple of weeks you should notice a difference. What is best product to repair hair (breakage, dry) damaged by use of ';HerStyler'; ceramic flat iron?
Nexxus Protein Reconstructor conditioner. Works very well.
really i cant believe it i love that straitner well next time you shower get shampoo that says for damaged hair and next time you straiten your hair use heat protecter spray like tresemae

this is a common problem with girls that use straitener. from now on be smarter on protecting your hair and it will fell much better in about a week

    hope i helped you!
Well... You should have left well enough alone!

Listen to your own description of how it has changed your hair. Is all that really worth having it look like everyone elses?

Buy yourself a steam heat straightener with ceramic or Tourmaline plates. Or have it Japanese straightened.

I don't mean to lecture but these products suck! and the hair care products that they peddle to correct these things dont work any better!

Ouidad.com. Best products for people proud to wear their hair beautiful and curly!
Your best bet is to leave the hot appliances alone for a while and get some good conditioner.
    go to a salon expert
scissors. cut off the dead ends then a serum
I would try a deep conditioning treatment. Then before you use heat styling use a heat protectant on your hair.

Ceramic Flat Iron good for African-American hair?

I am looking for a good ceramic flat iron (priced around 50-60 dollar). Yes, I have tried the CHI and I did not like it. It did not work on my fine, curly hair (i do not have a relaxer). Has anyone tried the flat iron by ION from Sally Beauty.Ceramic Flat Iron good for African-American hair?
If a CHI didn't work, I have no idea what would work for you. Honestly, I'm shocked - I've never heard of a CHI not working for anyone, African-American or otherwise. Nearly all of the stylists in my salon use CHI irons on their clients. You could try a different high-end ceramic iron such as Sedu, Infrashine or GHD, but they all have similar properties to CHI and are very pricey.

Perhaps give the CHI another try. Make sure your hair is clean and dry. Using a shine serum also often helps. Also, if the CHI you used has an adjustable heat setting, you may have had it on a lower setting. It takes a great deal of heat to straighten African-American hair.

CHI not working.... that's definitely the most bizarre thing I've heard today.Ceramic Flat Iron good for African-American hair?
Try Remington wet2straight. It works pretty good, ceramic plates and 30 heat settings it will run you $30 also to help I suggest buying a can of Cantu Shea Butter Flat Iron spray also and that $3.60. Works on the wife and daughters' hair and yes were African-American lol
The CHI didn't work!?! I have it and so far it works on my hair, my sister's hair ( we're both mixed but she looks full spanish) and my cousins hair ( VERY course). If the CHI didn't work I could suggest Sedu.
It should work fine on your hair, but you should probably ask the people at the place you are buying from or whoever does your hair!

    I hope i helped

Is the Hana Elite ceramic flat iron any good?

The Hana Elite is by far the best flat iron out on the market today. I was amazed to see that there was an affordable 100% ceramic flat iron available for non celebrities at such a good price. With its 100% black ceramic plates it will never chip or peel and you will never have to worry about the plates discoloring. I was able to straighten my full head of thick hair in less then 40 minutes with out having to go over it twice! The Hana left my hair smooth, non-frizzy and with a shine I've never seen before. And the next best thing about the Hana is the stylish accessories that are included.

any stores?CHI Pink Ceramic Flat Iron 1 inch Hair Straightener?
    It's not the best.

I dislike CHI's as they burn my hair regardless of whether or not I use a good heat spray.

Go to a salon near you and see if they sell it.

Honestly, there are SO many better brands than the CHI. Mine broke in 5 months with proper care. It also lacks a heat setting, and cannot be used to touch up hair because it's too hot.CHI Pink Ceramic Flat Iron 1 inch Hair Straightener?
    eh i wouldn't recomend it.

    quite frankly it SUCKS.

    mine brokee within 6 months.

    %26amp;' it's kinda ' cheap material ', it doesn't heat up well.

there are WAY more good flat irons.

    i recomend these:

Paul Mitchell is by far my favoritee.

    GHD.

    Sedu

    good luck.

JCPenney. They sell them in the JCPenney salon
i know some malls have a store call ';as seen on tv'; try something like that.
I don't like the chi that much. My friend has a herstyler but it gives a nasty burning smell. I got a sedu and it's really good. My hair is more softer and silky. It's worth the money and it doesn't tug on my hair. Paul Mitchell is also good. Go to ulta. They have chi and sedu straighteners there.

  • Do you really need to spend a lot of money to get a decent ceramic flat iron?

depends on how often you use it or your hair type. If you are going to use sparingly and your hair is already kind of straight, you can get away with a 30-50 dollar iron. If your hair is very thick, coarse, or curly, or you will use your iron often, it would be best to invest in a quality iron. CHI is my recommendation. but get one with a temperature gauge on it.Do you really need to spend a lot of money to get a decent ceramic flat iron?
No, I spent about $25.... mine is Conair.... it works GREAT!Do you really need to spend a lot of money to get a decent ceramic flat iron?
I have been reading reviews at folica.com, trying to figure out which iron I want myself. The reviews on a sedu or solia are excellent!

Go there and read the reviews

I have a cheapy now and i believe a more expensive iron will be much better on my hair and make it silkier.
yes. i have used cheap and it really wrecks your hair. always go for a really good quality one. think of it as an investment in beauty.
DEFFINATELY!!! I have tried the cheap ones from walmart and they toook forever to heat up, and didn't work well at all (and I have almost pin straight hair)

and then I bought a nice ceramic flat iron at sallys beauty supply, it takes about 1 1/2 minutes to heat up, and it makes my hair look amazing. (I spent about 100 dollars on it) (and I know on mine there is a lifetime warrenty too)

the difference between the two is huge, so I would splurge and buy a nice one because it will save you a lot of time and hastle.
No, they are all the same. My wife buys her's at Walmart.
It depends on your hair type, I have frizzy wavy hair and the ceramic is the only way I can get smooth shiny hair. I have trie the others and they just didn't work. The ceramic leaves my hair very healthy looking and it stays straight.
Yes my stylist uses the CHI irons....I am going to order a pair from hair!!!!
    hon Your story? Very interesting......

~About the new Chi Nano Ceramic flat iron, digital one?

I wanted to get the digital Chi nano ceramic flat iron (light blue in color), but I've read some things saying it's not as good compared to the older original Chi irons. Supposedly it makes your hair drier?! For those of you who have tried both, is this true?! Is it really worse than the original? I thought it would be better with the newer technology, but what do I know.~About the new Chi Nano Ceramic flat iron, digital one?
I have the 1'' nano one and my friend has the original one and we have used both and found no difference except that you can set mine to a certain temp. and the color. I think as has to do with what products you use. We use Garnier Shampoos and conditioners and anti-frizz, Herbal essence mousse and hairspray and Tresme Heat protection.

But I prefer Sedu or Solia - I hear that CHI's break easily if you don't treat them well or if you wrap the cord around them or drop them a few times...

But so far, I love my little blue CHI nano. I got it for Christmas and Im usually very carfull with my hair tools but even more carefull with this one. It leaves your hair silky straight and I learned how to curl and flip with it quite easily.

I hope this answered you questions...

I use the chi turbo 2 inch. I have really REALLY thick hair though, so i turn it up all the way and it never burns. Try another hair protectant and use a good conditioning shampoo. Sometimes its not the straightner, its the conditioning. It would be a shame to spend all that money, then have to buy a new straightner. What is the best ceramic flat iron on the markert????

I have thick hair also and i went to Sally's and bought a ceramic flat iron called Ceramic Series by Helen of Troy. I liek using it because when it's time for a relaxer this iron gets close to my roots to where it makes my hair look like i don't need a relaxer.
five star. its grey, and has 5 red stars across the top.

it heats up to 420 degrees, and is ready to use 30 seconds after turning on. ive been using it for over two years and my hair is still just as healthy as the day i started using it. plus, its a thin one so you can do so many other styles with it.

    good luck!

How good is the CHI Ceramic Flat Iron 1'; ?

i have frizzy hair ... is this straightener good for me..... i'm thinking of buying one ... and its pretty cheap $73 ....... it's real so no worrys about that ......How good is the CHI Ceramic Flat Iron 1'; ?
The Chi straightener is good, but I hope you're not expecting it to completely eliminate frizz because you'd be disappointed. Let me point this out, no straightener gets rid of frizz. In fact, straighteners just increase the frizz amount because they create breakage over prolonged use. If you're talking strictly for straightening, the Chi is an excellent choice (make sure to use a heat protectant). How good is the CHI Ceramic Flat Iron 1'; ?
Use it everyday. LOVE IT! It maitains your style plus shine.... Could not live without it. Plus it does everything so you wont need a need a curling iron or a krinker,

a tourmaline iron is better for your hair, it has a protective layer on the plates, you should try out the GHD, its a very good make althought its not a tourmaline one.Tourmaline, a precious stone, generates up to 6 times more negative ions upon heating than traditional ceramic irons. i forget what i use but u dont want to flat iron your hair when it is wet anyways because it really does damage your hair alot.
GHD,s are the best that you can buy,They are a bit expensive but well worth it in my opinion. They cost 拢105 and you can get them from Trade Secrets,Or any good hair salon.
The chi is the best that I know of but you can't do wet to dry.
I wouldn't get one that does wet hair. If you try to straiten your hair when it's wet you'll fry it! Believe me I've seen what it does.

  • What is the best ceramic flat iron?

I'm looking for one that heats up very fast and works quickly. i recently got my hair done and my stylist's flat iron heated up in 6 seconds and worked fast and great. Where can I find one like this? Price is not an issue as long as it works well. Please leave links :)What is the best ceramic flat iron?
I use the Sedu flat iron. It's good on even the frizziest of hair. Check out:

http://www.folica.com/What is the best ceramic flat iron?
the chi turbo iron is great because it heats up fast and you can control the temperature as opposed to the regular chi iron which only has a high setting. i have fine hair so too much heat will make it break and shed easily. you can purchase them at your local bed, bath, and beyond store surprisingly which is great because most people order them online and have it shipped to their address which can be a pain and added expense if you have to return it for any reason. it also has a soft cloth covering on the outside to prevent burning yourself when you have it close to places like your neck, ears, forehead, etc. while your ironing. i love mine so far and it tames my hair so well that i dont have to use it everyday which is great since i need to avoid excessive heat styling anyway. also, i got mine for $135 even though the retail price was $169 because i used some discount coupons they had sent to me in the mail making it an even better deal! good luck!
    definitely the chi straighteners!!
I personally prefer Gold'N Hot hair supplies. I have their curling iron(s), crimping iron %26amp; flat irons. They have some that only heat on one setting, but in like 30 seconds they're hot hot!!! They have some more expensive ones that let you set the temperature you want it on. They're very sturdy %26amp; I've had mine for about 5 years, they work well on any type hair, I think it's the best buy.
    go to ulta.com
    the CHI def.
    I personally like GHDs

拢100 maybe cheaper now, ive had mine for 4 years now and nothing wrong with them. They straighten and dont dry out your hair. you dont have to go over the same piece of hair so safer. :)
Although the Chi is the most known Name, the technology is old. It will burn your hair I have seen it happen. We have done a lot of research on this and found that the Mega star iron is the best. The chi iron only has a ceramic paint on the plates. The mega star plate is all ceramic, how much better is that? A lot!! There are a lot a lot of other improvements as well. Feel free to email me about that if you would like I know quite a bit about these. You can check out my web site at www.mastersharpener.com and follow the link to the beauty supplies under the shears and things link.
A CHI works wonders, I tell ya. I also hear Remington Wet to Straight is very good quality. All these are very pricey though.
CHI straighteners are the best I've ever used! It makes my hair super straight and so soft! They are kind of expensive but they are defiantly worth every penny!

    good luck!
iso international ceramic hair straightener and curling iron-

it straightens and curls, and it even makes ur hair shiny! i have one, and it heats up in about 6 seconds- and, it doesn't burn ur forehead if u get it to close to ur roots!

    http://www.isobeauty.com/
either a CHI or a FHI. I have a CHI and it warms up within a minute ish and works well. I've had it for almost 2 years and it still works wonders on my insanely curly hair. My friends pitched in for my 13th birthday and got it for me for around 180 or 200 dollars. One of my friends though, has a FHI and it warms up within 10 seconds. It works even better but it costs soooo much more. Hope I helped.
I heard the Farouk CHI flat iron is really good and heats up in under 10 seconds and the heat is evenly distributed. It's one of the best around and I'm about to purchase mine next week.

a website you can look at is www.folica.com Should be around $100
I have hair longer then halfway down my back so I straighten it. I use a conair straightener that is like a 2 inch flat iron base. and it heats up in like a minute. And i finish my very long hair in just 10 minutes.

I'm trying to decide between a Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron or a HAI Convertable Ceramic Flat Iron?

Hi! I need a new flat iron and I've narrowed it down to a Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron or a HAI Convertable Ceramic Flat Iron. just wanted to know if people with experiences with 1 or both of them which one they recommended better? and does it make your hair smoothe and shiny?

Thanks!!I'm trying to decide between a Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron or a HAI Convertable Ceramic Flat Iron?
the tourmaline heats more evenly than a ceramic iron and it will keep it straight in humidity

Would a Wigo庐 Professional 2录'; Ceramic Flat Iron be a good hair straightener to use?

I really need a new straightener, mine is too small and kinda damaging my hair. Anyone know if this one is any good or not?Would a Wigo庐 Professional 2录'; Ceramic Flat Iron be a good hair straightener to use?
I DONT KNOW I HAVE A CHI.Would a Wigo庐 Professional 2录'; Ceramic Flat Iron be a good hair straightener to use?
I have Wigo 2 1/4 Flat Iron and I must say I LOVE IT!!! I set my dial to the appropriate number and it works great. Of course CHI Irons are one of the best but also one of the most expensive but maybe you can contact a salon and ask this which they prefer based on your type of hair or the look your going for. Good Luck
it's alright. But your best bet is to invest in a Chi. I consider it the best flat iron on the market. It runs about $140 but it's worth every penny. You get what you pay for.
Wigos break fairly easily, not very reliable, and they fry your hair. All flat irons will fry your hair to a certain extent, but some will do it more than others. If you don't get the flat iron I recommend, at least make sure that it is ceramic, they don't damage your hair as much. When you flat iron your hair, you will also want to use a protective spray/product. I don't know any offhand, but I'm sure you can find a good quality one. The flat iron I have is a 1 3/4 inch (I think), it's a Sedu. I got it off of www.folica.com it's a great site to get flat irons, it's reliable, and much cheaper than if you were to buy it from a salon. CHI's are also phenomenal, not the most reliable, but they work wonders.

Either a CHI, or a Sedu.

    Good luck!

Biosilk Ergonomic Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron or Chi Ceramic Flat Iron, which controls frizz better?

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd and Chameleon. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Remington, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap drugstore brands that tend to cause hair damages.

What can I use to safely clean hair oils, and hair spray off of my ceramic flat iron curlers?

Try some rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. Make sure the iron is off, unplugged, and cool. What can I use to safely clean hair oils, and hair spray off of my ceramic flat iron curlers?
Remember not to try and scrape or use abrasive materials to clean it. You will damage the iron.

Hey how can you get crimped hair with a ceramic flat iron?

is it possible?Hey how can you get crimped hair with a ceramic flat iron?
u can braid ur hair into different sections then go over the braids with ur flat iron,go over it a couple of times to make sure it will crimp, then just undo the braid, there ya go, easyHey how can you get crimped hair with a ceramic flat iron?
no you have to get a flat iron that has that part that crimps your hair you can get it at any beauty store. i used to have one that only cost $20.00
I crimp my hair with my flat iron, though I dont know if you'd say crimp or wave, it's more of a loose crimp. But what I do is, just like flat ironing, grab a small section of hair, start from the top and hold on to the bottom of you hair, you have to keep going downwards the whole time, but as your going down, right from the beginning, move the iron outwards away from your head then curve it back in towards your head, then curve away, then curve back until you get to the bottom (move your fingers of course) and your done. Then put in some hairspray to keep it like that. But do some practice first you probably won't get it right on your first section, but you should be able to get it on your third or fourth try atleast. Good luck.
There are such things as crimpers, if those are still around. Or just braid your hair when it's damp before you go to sleep
i wouldnt say so..i would use a wave iron or a crimper

    Ceramic Flat Irons?

I'm Black and i was wondering if i used a ceramic flat iron would it burn off my hair...being that i treat my hair sort of differently. I would never dream of flat ironing my hair wet....but rather go thru a process of washing it, combing thru it, drying it, than putting like a pressing oil on it - i have invested in flat irons over a few years made by a company called Hot Tools? or somthing like that and theyve been okay, they just werent made with ceramic plates so i was just wondering....

my grandmother is a beautician from the old school, so she doesnt mess with the ';new'; stuff out there such as flat irons in general...but shes just worried about what she has heard and how they get sooooo hot.

so if anyone has anything to say to maybe answer my question i'd appreciate itCeramic Flat Irons?
Hello, ceramic irons are so in demand because the ceramic is better for the hair than traditional iron plates. I would adise you investing in some good quality irons, that go to a high temp, as the result from these is amazing and you will never look back.

However i cant emphasise how important it is to protect your hair before you straighten! I use a 'hot iron protection spray' which protects the hair from the intensive heat!Ceramic Flat Irons?
hot tools are crap and arent real Ceramic Flat Irons there only

Ceramic coated i know trust me i just took back some cheap 30 dollar gold n hot which i forgot there were fake but my conair broke...conair is real but any who took teh gnh back and bought a 58.00 FHI heat which is even better pretty damm good if you ask me,well those cheap one are fake if any hair slaon or store lady says threre real look at her and say ok, the lady who i was trying to get my money back when i took thoses gnh back cause they burt my hait and made it really frizzy and gross she tryed to tell me what what wrong yea these flat irons are a rip off

What do you reccomend is the best ceramic flat iron for Very curly frizzy hair?

Absolutely no question about it--buy a CHI flatiron. Uses heat and ionic technology to break apart the water molecules in your hair as it flattens it. I use a CHI ionic blowdryer too with a flat brush. Nothing works better. Ask any high-end hairdresser, salon or stylist--you can't get these at Supercuts. Pricey--but worth it if you want professionally straightened hair every time. I have very long (mid-to-low back) curly and frizzy blond hair and it gets mine like glassy silk in under 20 minutes wet from the shower (dry and flatiron). Both of my CHI products have withstood very heavy usage and travel bang-ups and still work beautifully. What do you reccomend is the best ceramic flat iron for Very curly frizzy hair?
I have the exact same hair as you...use revlon or CHI straightener and use chi oil too! Their oil will cause no burns or split ends! revlon would be in 3rd placethough! What do you reccomend is the best ceramic flat iron for Very curly frizzy hair?
As someone who has used MANY different brands of flat irons on my extremely curly and frizzy hair, I must say that, though the iron does make some difference, your technique is what matters most. You have to be very patient and flat iron your hair in small sections. After using the cheapest flat iron from walmart to a CHI that I borrowed from a spoiled friend, I have found that the benefits of a CHI or other high end flat iron don't make up for the money you have to shell out to get them. I use a $40 remington flat iron from walmart, and nobody believes that I have naturally curly hair unless i wear it curly to prove it. The Conair Infinity series flat irons are really good, too.
    CHI straightner
    GHD's. good luck
Chi ceramic flat iron...with some Iron Guard product. It will be an investment, but a good one.
Chi, they are very good. They don't burn your hair or damage it. I think it's 'round $85-$90.
CHI is the best. My mom's friends is a hair stylist and she recommended the product to me. It costs around $90.
go to a salon a ask them... it will cost a lot of money ( around 100$- 180$)

  • On an h2pro ceramic flat iron, what does the automatic sense control system do?

I bought one and i like it but i was just wondering what that meant. On an h2pro ceramic flat iron, what does the automatic sense control system do?
It's to help regulate the heat for your specific hair type. So it's not too hot but hot enough. I don't know if I would rely totally on that though. Flat irons can be very drying and damaging. Turn it down a little so it's not on the highest setting, unless you have ethnic hair. No matter what always make sure you're using a leave in conditioner and a thermal protectant too.On an h2pro ceramic flat iron, what does the automatic sense control system do?
Heat sensor goes up when it needs to goes down when needed may be too hot for your hair and lowers the level of heat or vice versa

How can I straighten my hair since its thick and nappy to the root with a conair ceramic flat iron. ?

Wash your hair, dry it with a hand dryer, Olive Oil-Oil sheen (it's great for thick hair)..That's all you need. Me and my daughter have very thick hair and we use the same flat irons. I use the setting on 7... It's picture day for us tomorrow as well.

Good Luck!!How can I straighten my hair since its thick and nappy to the root with a conair ceramic flat iron. ?
i have a conair too, they straighten pretty good if u do it write

First let me suggest that u get TRESemme Smooth No frizz ultra light shine spray

if u put it on your hair and comb it through before you straighten it prevents frizz, and makes it extra straight

first get all the hair from the top of your head and clip it back

do the hair u have underneath first and take your time.

put hairspray if u want, but i prefer not too

after u have done that, unclip your hair and do the top part, this way it comes out really straight cause u get every strand straight

and do it 2 inches at a time, dont just grab half the hair on ur head
Okay. Put sections of your hair up at a time and straighten them one at a time. Keep on gradually pulling parts of your hair down and straightening them. If that doesnt wok, than you can get layers of your hair cut of at a good barber, Good LUck!
separate your hair into layers:top middle bottom and use clip to keep them apart

    then straighten in layers
If u got a perm 4 weeks ago ur hair aint nappy.
    hairsprayyy

    lots of it.

and dont forget the conditioner :)
well try you avoid heat the leads to brreakage so try a perm or relaxer

Is it a bad idea to use my ceramic flat iron on damp hair or should I just use it on dry hair? ?

Oh, and does it matter if I use hair product when my hair is either wet or dry?

Thanks! Is it a bad idea to use my ceramic flat iron on damp hair or should I just use it on dry hair? ?
No! Unless your iron is intended for wet hair only use it on dry! It will break the ion and make your hair very dry %26amp; damaged! Is it a bad idea to use my ceramic flat iron on damp hair or should I just use it on dry hair? ?
You can damage your hair when you use a flat iron on wet hair. Apply a good product first before drying it. This is a product I recommend.

    http://www.paulmitchell.com/Products/Pau鈥?/a>

If you don't use a protectant than you can damage your hair by drying it out. Don't use a flat iron everyday. Make sure you do a deep conditioning treatment once or twice a week.
lol I do, but it is bad, because when your hair is wet, its much more vulnerable, which means it can break and get split ends easier.

try blow drying your hair a bit first.

I would also try some protective products on your hair if you are going to continue doing the wet flat iron thing. I use Kenra PlatinumHot Spray: Protect %26amp; Finish, it comes in this silver bottle.
Well using a flat iron on damp hair is definatly no the best idea...u dont want your hair to get damaged do you? To maintain healthy gorgeous hair always use heat protectant and only flat iron or straiten hair when it is dry. And it depends what look your going for. If you want to scrunch your hair and give it that natural wavy look apply products when hair is wet and scrunch. If you are going out to a dinner party or special occacion put products in dry hair before styling to make hair easier to work with, fuller, shinier or whatever. :) hope this helps! :)
flat iron on wet hair damages it and after a few times the hair falls out. use it on dry hair.

hair products like spray and frizz dry but it wont hurt your hair if you put kit in when its wet it just wont work
In reality the best thing is not to use it all. But If you do use it. Put a product in your hair that will protect your hair from the heat and then dry your hair and then straighten.
If your hair is damp it will frizzle and make it look worse.

Use it on dry hair only please.
If you use it on wet hair; you will damage your hair soooo bad.

ALWAYS use a flat iron on dry hair only!
    use it on dry hair!

    yes, it matters.

it will make your hair look BAD.

but only if you use it on damp hair.

    :)
    dry hair is better

Ceramic flat Irons? VS. Ionic Flat Irons???

title kinda says it all.....iv allways had a ceramic one, but never heard much about a ionic

what are the main diffrence between the two

    which one is more effective?

and which one is overall better???Ceramic flat Irons? VS. Ionic Flat Irons???
Ceramic is always best. The ceramic irons get the hottest and give the best results without scorching hair. Of course, you can always burn your hair by leaving the hot iron on your hair too long, but if you know how to effectively flat iron your hair, go ceramic for best result.

Ionic is sort of a gimmick in that it supposed to eliminate frizz in your hair by neutralizing the ions. Since a flat iron is smoothing the frizz out anyway, it seems ineffective to have a flat iron labeled as such.

Do straightning ceramic flat irons burn your hair?

yes they do but there are things you can do to prevent damage.. before you iron or even blow dry you could spray in a heat protection spray ie: Beyond the Zone ';turn up the heat'; or Proclaim ';spray on glosser'; (both carried at Sally Beauty Supply) they will sheild your hair from the heat and prevent heat damage.

I would also recomend using a flat iron with a negative ion activator, these will usually run anywhere between 39.99 to 199.99 depending on the brand name and the retailer, but the negative ions will seal the hair's cuticle and lock in mousture leaving your hair smooth and very shiny.

(if you can find one that uses ';nano'; technology that is even better, it has a negative ion activator that will break down the negative ions into their smallest form and highest quantity giving you the maximum benefits of the negative ions)Do straightning ceramic flat irons burn your hair?
as long as you protect it, it will be ok, use a flat iron spray, or an anti-frizz serum to protect your hair from the heat, and try not to flat iron you hair more than 3 times per weekDo straightning ceramic flat irons burn your hair?
    YEAH
    yes
yes they fry your hair and make it frizzy.
    no because their ceramic
Yes it does u will look pretty but it'll damage ur hair
whatever ';burns'; or ';heats up'; will damage your hair. sad but true. the best flat iron out right now is the ceramic one because its doesn't hurt your hair as much but will still damage it.
    does for me! O_O

Are ceramic flat irons really better than titanium? If so, why?

Im considering buying and Ozon titanium flat iron and they claim that it is better for your hair than ceramic. I have read other things that say ceramic is better but i couldnt really understand why. Which is healthier for hair?

Thanks. Are ceramic flat irons really better than titanium? If so, why?
yea bcuz wen yu stariten yur hair wit titanium yur jst cruching hair between two metal hot plates while cereamic adss shine n sleek to yur hairAre ceramic flat irons really better than titanium? If so, why?
    ceramic is much betterrrr

I'm debating over the Conditioning Ionic-Ceramic Digital Flat Iron and the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline flat iron. Which is best or do you have a better one.Ceramic flat irons?
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons, including Sedu, HAI, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss GHD, T3, Kenta etc.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, GHD. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: CHI, HAI, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Worst: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.Ceramic flat irons?
Get a chi. You won't regret it. I got one for Christmas and I absolutely love it!

Does someone know the temperature range on a Chi Ceramic flat iron 2';?

I'm getting ready to buy a flat iron, but I don't find the temperature range anywhere. Also, where would be the best place to buy it at?Does someone know the temperature range on a Chi Ceramic flat iron 2';?
I have a phi (just as nice and expensive as chi) 1 inch ceramic and the highet setting is 450*.Does someone know the temperature range on a Chi Ceramic flat iron 2';?
The best place to buy a CHI Flat Iron is at a salon. Make sure to talk with the professionals there (I'm a hairdresser). They will be able to give you the answers to all your questions, hopefully. I believe a CHI flat iron ranges up to 400*. I own a CHI and I LOVE IT! But other another good Iron that is comparable to the CHI is the Paul Mitchell Flat Iron. That has a temperature guage on it, and it works just as great. Just let me know if you have any more questions.
All Chi's are different it really depends on what series they are, but typically some mostly max out at 450 degree F best place to buy it is ebay...
my chi goes up to 350...

Is a ceramic tourmaline iron better than just a ceramic flat iron?

Also, how much of a difference will there be?Is a ceramic tourmaline iron better than just a ceramic flat iron?
Actually Ceramic Tourmaline is Better Because It Is The newest Technology to be Built Into a Flat Iron and Helps more with Frizz because of the ions it lets out to fight it and it is made to Add Shine

Chi has new flat irons with this new technology Ceramic Tourmaline and many others are just as great like SOLIA and Sedu that also have it.

Working at salon I would think a person would be up to date on their information. Is a ceramic tourmaline iron better than just a ceramic flat iron?
a full ceramic iron is best tourmaline is NOT full ceramic if you want a good full ceramic try CHI they are the best!! they do get a lil pricey but its worth it some of the girls have used theirs on clients everday for a year and they still work like a charm they last forever!! o yea and get a heat protector like chi iron guard 44
I use a ceramic tourmaline iron, and I like it a lot. I prefer it to any other iron I've ever had.

What is an affordable ceramic flat iron for thick African-American hair?

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etcWhat is an affordable ceramic flat iron for thick African-American hair?
    manhattan silver bullet titanium

people would say the GHD is better

but actually for thick, curly hair like yours, i would reccomend the silver bullet,

I got my Solia a few years back after my Chi broke, it worked great for my hair (and my sister's hair too). The best thing is that Solia has a temperature dial (to adjust temp). Last August my sister went to a college in california, she took the Solia with her. Initially I wanted another Solia, but Jonna (my hair stylist) convinced me to get a Sedu. I did. Sedu is great!.
    okay first of all

buy a straightner that IS NOT SLIM LINE

because ur hair is thick you will need fat plate straightner

any brand would do just as long as you use heat protection

How do I clean a ceramic flat iron?

To clean the plates, I use this stuff called Goo Gone on a cotton ball, then wipe the plates with a wet paper towel, then dry the plates with a paper towel. In stead of Goo Gone you can use rubbing alchohol. How do I clean a ceramic flat iron?

I'm thinking about getting the CHI Digital Ceramic Flat Iron?

Is it worth the money?? My hair takes an hour to straighten and I have the original CHI. With the CHI Digital Ceramic Flat Iron do you think because you can change the temperature it will make it easier to straighten my hair?I'm thinking about getting the CHI Digital Ceramic Flat Iron?
    DON'T FALL FOR THE HYPE!

It's not the brand of iron that flattens your hair. It is the temperature.

Just find an iron that heats up to about 300 and has a temp setting on it. Play around with the settings until you find the right temp for your hair type.

You don't have to spend a fotune.

I have a $30 flat iron that I have used in my salon for two years. Never had a problem!I'm thinking about getting the CHI Digital Ceramic Flat Iron?
the CHI's are definetly a lot of money but they work wonders, the digital isn't that much different than the original. if you are serious about straightening and do it everyday then just go to a professonal salon and get it chemical straightened, it's pretty much the opposite of a perm but it works beautifully, and it costs about 100-200 dollars depending on where you go, and lasts from 6-12 months, again depending on where you go.

    good luck
DONT!!! i had a CHI before and it was horrible. i got another professional straightener called Bespoke Labs Wide Wet to Dry T3 and it works sooo much better than CHI. it is not worth the money. it works like any other straightener and doesn't cut the time or cost. T3 is so much worth the money and it's faster and also wet to dry. it also gets up to 410 degrees F. get that instead. it's easier to straighten your hair with that. good luck hope i helped! :]
