Which Ceramic flat iron is the best and why?

I have had a Chi and LOVE it! However it has been just a year, and it broke. For what I paid for it, I would think it would have lasted a lot longer. I am just wondering if I should get another Chi, or is there another flat iron that is better? I have very thick, naturally curly hair.Which Ceramic flat iron is the best and why?
I would recommend the FHI 1'; Ceramic %26amp; Tourmaline Platform Flat Iron for really thick and curly hair.

Since your hair is curly, you should have a flat iron that gets really hot, and the FHI heats up to 450 degrees F, and the ceramic plates and ion technology protect your hair from heat damage.

I also wouldn't get a flat iron with plates smaller than 1'; if your hair is thick or long.

I bought my FHI flat iron from this site and I love it, they have a guide for choosing which flat iron is best for your hair type:

If you want more information about the different features and brands of professional quality ceramic flat irons, read these reviews:

FHI flat irons are the best because they are true, pure ceramic flat irons not ceramic platted like the Chi. This makes them better because solid ceramic plates disperse the heat evenly through the hair which means you dont get hot spots on the hair. Hot spots increase the chances of hair breakage.
there are much better hair straighteners for the price. Over the years, chi has gone way down in their quality :(.

Try a Solia. They'll run you about 80-140 dollars, and they work really great. They're solid ceramic, so it won't kill you rhair, high heat, so you get fast results, and it's high quality, so you'll get silky smooth hair (not to mention its a lot more durable)

Another big brand in hair straighteners is the Sedu Revolution. It's a really great iron, and if you love chi, you'll LOVE the sedu. It works similar to the Solia, except its a little bit more heavy duty. It'll run you 120-200 dollars, and its pretty portable:

FHI is another great professional brand, and they have quite a few to select from. The original, and the Platform are their two more popular irons, and they can be picked up at around 100-250:

T3 is also widely used in salons, and it can be picked up for about 130:

GHD is probably the best i've ever seen, on ALL types of hair, but it also is the most expensive, in fact,i think for the normal everyday straighteners, they're the most expensive, but you get teh best results, and it's super durable:

It really depends on the type of your hair.

If your hair is manageable, go for the solia.

If your hair is more on the unmanageable side, go for the Sedu revolution, or the FHI Platform.

If your hair just doesn't cooperate, and you have the budget, go for the GHD.

its best to ask your stylist to evaluate the texture of your hair and ask her/him about it before you buy one :)

good luck!
