Difference between Tourmaline or Ceramic Flat iron and Which is the best?

I would like to know what the difference between a CERAMIC and TOURMALINE flat iron is. I also would like to know what do each do. And which do you recomend I should buy?....

-Which do you use and why?

And what is the best brand of the type of flat iron you recommend?

Thank You and hope it's not too much to ask for ;D!Difference between Tourmaline or Ceramic Flat iron and Which is the best?
I actually have owned both kinds... but hopefully this little piece of advise helps you out a bit...

Tourmaline flat irons produce great number of negative ions, which strengthens the hair for long, and also gives a silkier and shinier look. Whereas, the ceramic hair iron does not give as many negative ions as tourmaline flat irons, this is necessary to keep your hair healthy and silky. Since it produces more negative ions, it gives you the smooth, shiny and silky hair that everyone wants to have. Tourmaline flat irons are said to take just 25 seconds to straighten your hair, whereas the ceramic hair irons takes slightly longer time. They are more expensive then the ceramic straighteners, but well worth the money. They won't damage your hair as much in the long run. The only real plus side to a ceramic straightener is you can use it when you hair is still damp. But ceramic straighteners already take awhile longer to heat up and to straighten, so using it on damp hair just makes the process take even longer.

I hope this helps a little bit.Difference between Tourmaline or Ceramic Flat iron and Which is the best?
ok well...

ceramic is better cus its just a different metal they use and it better for u hair and damages it less. the other ones r crapy and MOST straghteners r ceramic now a days eventhe cheap ones

the best straghtener is the Chi but i have never used the Chi but the other ones work fairly well unless u have RLY RLY curly hair like only if in the shower there r still SUPER curly that a cheap one wouldnt work for u. I use conair it works well for me 30 sec heat up 1inch iron only 15 bucks and ANY store (walmart target walgreens)
Tourmaline and Ceramic are just the materials that heating plates are made from. As far as usage, they're really no different from one another. The best brand is one that you're comfortable holding.
I'd like Tourmaline flat irons because it can produce great number of negative ions. But,as you know,it's expensive than the other. Tourmaline or not? Make your choice.
